Working as a part of the multi-disciplinary team deliver evidence based, primary nursing services at the highest level of professional and quality standards, to best meet patient needs.
* This job requires the job holder to work with cross-functional teams and follow” Clinical Staff Matrix Model” as needed
Delivery of Services Provide high-quality individualized nursing care, according to treatment plans, to best meet patient needs. Safely administer drugs, medications, injections as required and following Naufar policy and procedure. Monitoring patients for positive and negative effects of treatment, including medication, and reporting as appropriate to physicians/multi-disciplinary team. Take notes about the care provided and the patients’ responses to the care, and feedback to the Nursing head of Department to make appropriate service improvement decisions. Record patient observations, activities and therapeutic interventions conducted by primary nurse in patient record; accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and Naufar policy. Provide screening and observations for patients; for example; urine drug screening and general observations for patients as determined by treatment plan and Naufar policy. Communicates appropriately with the wider multi-disciplinary team any positive drug screening or observations outside of normal range taking proper action when detected. Actively interacts with patients using an empathic approach to support continued engagement of patients in substance use disorder treatment. Provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support to Patients and their families to establish a compassionate environment. Maintain infection prevention and control measures, ensuring work areas are clean, safe and sanitary.
Provide information to Patients and their families to answer their questions and concerns. Conduct and report evidenced-based nursing assessments in support of the Model of Service Delivery. Prepare rooms for new admissions to welcome Patients. Provide all nursing care in privacy and knock before entering the Patients’ rooms to ensure their comfort. Safeguard the confidentiality of all Patients’ care information. Give appropriate notice to Patients before their room and/or roommate (where/if applicable) is changed to ensure their satisfaction.
Clinical Excellence Participate as applicable in developing appropriate clinical policies and procedures, clinical protocols, case management, quality assurance programs as per the defined care standards. Ensure Patient satisfaction / engagement with the level of service delivered, provide immediate service recovery, and monitor facility incidents and complaints to identify gaps in quality and take appropriate corrective actions. Contribute to patient safety, unit and organizational learning by reporting incidents to Nursing Head of Department and via electronic incident reporting system. Actively participate in 1:1 supervision and learning opportunities alongside selfdirected learning to ensure role competency and confidence. Medical Records Update and utilize the information provided on the EMR to expedite the clinical activities, improve efficiency and support decision making.
Research and Education : Undertake agreed programs of continuing professional development and trainings to expand knowledge and expertise in the field. Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes and practices considering international leading practices to improve business processes, productivity and operational efficiency. Implement all relevant departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Follow established safety regulations while using equipment and supplies to ensure safety of staff and Patients at all times. Reporting Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports (clinical and departmental) to meet Naufar’ s requirements, and the departmental requirements, policies and standards. Related Assignments Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

CONTEXT, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY: Key decisions having significant impact on the function/department are referred to the direct manager for approval before implementation. The jobholder exercises financial and non-financial authority as per the level established by the Naufar management and stipulated in the delegation of authority. The job require flexibility to work on call, day or night shift as needed.
– JOB REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Professional/Academic Qualifications :
Essential Desirable Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Equivalent degree.
Valid Primary license from the country of origin (if applicable)
Eligible for license from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar to practice Healthcare Profession.
Up-to date CPD in relevant areas.
3 years of experience in Nursing includes 1 year’s relevant experience in mental health or Addiction. » 0 experience » for Qataris and residents of Qatar who Graduates from Qatar institutions and successfully completed the internship.
Good knowledge of Naufar clinical services and systems.
Good knowledge of Naufar administrative services and systems.
Ability to develop a competent understanding of Qatarbased criminal justice services and systems.
Ability to develop a competent understanding of Qatarbased healthcare systems.
Experience of nursing as applied to the mental health field and addictions field.
Demonstrable skills in the safe and therapeutic administration of medication.
Excellent interpersonal, self-organization and communication skills.
Ability to communicate to a variety of internal and external health care and service-related professionals and coordinate care.
Excellent use of the English language (must) and Arabic language (must) spoken and written.
Competent IT skills and ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and health management information systems.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to motivate others, develop relationships and coordinate responses to prospective patients and external agencies in the pursuit of expediting admission and the delivery of care in appropriate settings.
